TURF LAYING FAQ’s

How long does new turf take to establish?

Generally, turf takes around two to three weeks to root into the soil during spring and summer. In cooler months it may take a little longer. During this period it is essential to water daily, especially in dry or windy weather, to help the roots bond with the soil beneath.

Can turf be laid all year round?

Yes, provided the ground is not frozen or waterlogged, turf can be laid in most seasons. Autumn and early spring are ideal because temperatures are mild and moisture levels are higher, which encourages quick root growth.

Do you remove the old grass before laying new turf?
